I knew there was nothing wrong with iTunes.
I tried scanning the computer.
I can't seem to find anything.
And how would I go about repairing Windows?
That's the only thing that doesn't seem to be working; everything else is fine.

what type of A/V do you have? it may be a good idea to get another free one and scan again, as many programs will pick up on stuff others don't...but then again i doubt its an infection it doesnt sound like any infection i know of but it dosent hurt to go ahead and try anyway

I have Norton A/V.
I don't think it's a virus.
It seems as if there's a setting on my computer or something preventing it.

I tried the first link and read it, it didn't change anything.
The second one was all about Vista.
I have Windows XP.

Update.
Has anyone come up with anymore ideas on how to make iTunes work?

I did get a plug-in that linked Windows Media Player and my iPod, but it expired.

hello again, just checking here but have you downloaded itunes and saved the file to your desktop, rather than clicking run from the link. if you know what i mean? i.e. when you click download itunes you have the option to "run" or to "save file", you have tried saving the file and then running it havent you?
sorry if that sounds patronizing but im just checking
do let us know how you get on.

Yeah, I've tried just about everything I can come up with.
On every user account (admin and mine) on my computer, in safe mode, in safe mode with networking, and I've saved it to the desktop and then tried.

I get the same message everytime.
It's quite frustrating because I have no way to get my music onto my iPod now.
=(

have you downloaded it to your desktop and then burned it to a disc? That may work. Just another suggestion. IF that doesn't work I would consider trying to find one of your buddies that has it on their computer and either use the disc that comes with iPods, which you should have gotten, or trying burning their copy of iTunes to a disc and loading it on yours.

Okay, I'll try that, thanks.
Maybe it will work.

I did take my disc from my old iPod shuffle with a much older version of iTunes on it and tried.
It still gave me same message though!!

can you install other programs? it could be a corruption in windows itself if its not letting you install anything at all.

No, I can install almost everything else I've tried.
I can't install QuickTime, iTunes or the Sims 2, other than that, everything else works fine.
