Question Deinstalling QuickTime
I want to deinstall QuickTime Player version D-6.5.2. The updater insists that this version is the latest version (it can't find any other updates), but that's not true, the latest is 7.4.5 (or 7.5.4...don't know which). When I go to the add/remove programs panel, I am offered two choices of deinstallation, and I don't know which one to choose. The total deinstallation says that extensions will be deleted and will make other programs malfunction if that happens. The second option is to deinstall what can be deinstalled without removing stuff other programs need. I don't know which of my other programs need QuickTime. Since I can't get it to update automatically to the latest version and I regard it as nothing more than a useless addition to my system, I'm thinking of installing VLC player in its stead (which I hope does not have any security gaps). Anyway, how do I get rid of QuickTime without doing anything wrong?

Quicktime 7
I never uninstalled old version before installing new one and had no problems.
I also never saw the options you state, but if I did, I would choose keep files other apps
may need.
Good luck.
