Cannot Burn ANYTHING EVER
Hi I have been having this problem for quite some time and I can't even really recall when it begain. I definately remember being able to cds and dvds at one point in time though. Anyway I cannot burn anything ever. I have an external DVD burner (Sony DVD RW DRU-710A) that I just updated the firmware on and it will not burn it doesnt even recognize when I put a blank disc in anymore - when I try to burn it pops the tray out and demands blank media even though there is already blank media in there. I also have an internal Lite-On LTR-48327S which I downloaded the firmware upgrade for but for some reason it does not want to install even though it IS the right firmware! It lists my 3 drives one of which is the correct model and then goes on to say the model that was previously listed is not really listed! Anyway this gets anywhere up to a minute then gives a write error. I have reinstalled OS multiple times with multiple different revisions of Windows XP SP2 upgraded to SP3. Nero 8. I just don't understand why I can't burn anything and it is driving me insane! PLEASE HELP!!
