Exclamation iPod as a storage device?
Well, I've been downloading a lot of stuff, for my iPod, and since they are in itunes (and in my computer), they've been taking a lot of space recently. I even found out that there is only 25 percent of free space on my computer.

So I was wondering, instead of forcing my computer to hold all the music/videos for my ipod, can't i just... somehow... make my iP0d just hold everything, then delete the files in my computer to save up space? I mean, like... download a music file, put it in my ipod, then delete the file knowing that a duplicate is in my ipod. I think you understand what I'm trying to say.

You can load up the iPod with all your music and delete the library on the computer BUT, I and many others would strongly advise against doing so since the chance of losing all your music files unexpectedly without any backup would increase significantly. It would be much better to get an inexpensive external hard drive and transfer your library from the internal drive to the external drive to free up space.

you could also burn them to a dvd as a data file, I have done this with most of my mp3 songs

if you ipod auto-syncs (like mine) it would not be a good idea at all, it would see nothing there and remove the files from your ipod and therefore you would be left with nothing, external hard drives are good, i highly recommend them... to anyone. (sweet 900th post )

Yes, that's the approach I took too. You can get very large external hard disks very cheaply.
Just plug it into a USB port and stuff all your music onto it, then disconnect it till the next time you need it.

Wouldn't store it all on the iPod - capacity not all that large anyway, what if its disk fails or you lose it?
