mpeg4 to DVD?
Hi, I'm totally new to making DVD's and I would like to make a DVD out of an mpeg4 movie I just purchased (downloaded). What I'm looking for is to make a DVD so that; 1. I have a back-up. 2. I can play it on a stand-alone DVD player. I have Sony DVD+RW accucore blank discs. Can I just do a Windows copy/paste or copy to to get what I want?
Thanks!

I just thought of something else. The movie file is on my son's computer. I have Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite on my computer. Can I just mail the movie file to my computer and use that software to make the DVD? My computer uses DVD-R/RW discs.

Is the file less than one gig? You can use a temporary hosting/transfer service like dropsend to transfer the file. If you are in proximity to both in a reasonable timeframe just copy the file onto a thumb drive or DVD blank and transfer it that way instead.

If you want the video to play on any standalone you'll need to convert/author a proper DVD video using Roxio MyDVD/Videowave or a free app like DVDFlick.

The file is slightly over 500 MB. I have a 2 GB thumb drive. I'll try copying the movie from my son's computer onto the thumb drive and then copy it to mine. I just get confused with the +'s and -'s on the blank discs. I never know which one to use.

Check the agreement for the file too. It may be protected.
