dBpoweramp Music converter... lightweight, free, very useful program, this will preatty much convert everything to anything, the CD's songs are .wma right? if so just put em on your computer and convert, or if they are Cd..files... just rip them using WMA to .wma then convert using the dBpoweramp

Chances are the CD player will only play Audio CD's and not Mp3 CD's, so instead of converting to Mp3 you should just burn the WMA's directly to an Audio CD and WMP should work fine.

I agree a very useful program, but no longer free. You can still get the last freeware version but it doesn't work with the current WMA codec.

your kidding?! farout... that doesn't seem like the type of program to go paid... anyway most car stereos nowdays are MP3 compatible.. Will that work, i mean burning .wma to an audio CD, wouldn't it just be .wma when played in a stereo?

Since the OP said it was "an older cd player" I would guess it can only play Audio CD's. If it does play Mp3 CD's then I would get Free WMA to MP3 Converter by Jodix.

ok a little confusion for me, the cd player is factory in my wifes 99 grand prix GTP. I burned cd's in the past using an old version of EZ CD Creator 4.0? I've slept since then but I seem to recall they were done in a Mp3 format I will need to check the older disc's on the comp, but I'm 99% sure it won't play .WMA file. I thinking too that maybe I did'nt finalze the the last 1 I burned but it played fine in my truck an it's an older model after-market stereo.

are you sure its MP3 compatible? has anyone put a new stereo in it? if not it probably wont be as stantley suggested. Check the "face" of the stereo and see if it has anything like the MP3 symbol or MP3 compatible written on it, if not its probably not going to play MP3s

ok an update I chk'd the older cd's I burned and they were all in a .wav file and they play fine in the factory player, using the NERO 7 it also converted an burned to a .wav but when I put the cd in it comes up error ?? I am currently burning the burning the new disc's on sony CD-RW could that be the culprit, they playing fine in everything else, also NERO is not giving me the option to finalize after burning does it do it automatically or am I just missing something very obvious

Older decks won't read CD-RW discs.

When you create an Audio CD in Nero, I believe Finalizing is done by default. Audio CDs have to be created to very specific and strict parameters, which the software will do automatically. You can drop in any combination of WAV, MP3, WMA, or any other audio files it recognizes, and it will convert them as necessary.

You don't need "Audio CDs".... regular CD-Rs should work fine.

WMA and MP3 are both audio formats - how is a video converter going to help?
