iTunes sound distortion
Every time I play a song in iTunes it plays
1. at double speed
2. at extremely low quality

and sounds distorted and fuzzy.
However when I play the same files in WMP or elsewhere they seem uncorrupted.

I attempted to completely uninstall and reinstall iTunes but this did not help at all.

My iTunes is v. 7.7.1 and I'm running it on XP Home

Thank you
Matt

Something similar happened to me, but I was using Vista. I don't recall sound distortion, but the songs were playing faster than normal.

My problem.....when I built the PC, it came with onboard sound, but I didn't disable it in BIOS when I added a BGears sound card. Once I disabled onboard sound, everything was normal.
