Video File Problems
I have Video files that are loosing colour, and turning black.

what can i do to rectify these problems?

What can i do to stop them happening in the first place.

this happens when i have compressed the files.

I don't know about turning black but codecs often subtract some of the color when they are compressing. Are you maybe trying to compress a long video to an overly small size? If not, you might have to try/use a different codec or different program with a similar codec and see if that helps. Its hard to say for sure not knowing the source video properties and what the intended end result is.
