Thumbs down Dell DJ
Hello all,

This problem started a little while after Windows Media Player 11 came out. I don't even use WMP to access it however, I always use Windows explorer. I have a Dell DJ 20gb Gen 2 and every time I plug it in, windows XP recognizes it as an MTP Device and it works for about 15 seconds and then it disappears. I have the 2.20.07 firmware. I have rolled back to Windows Media Player 9 and 10, and it does the same thing. I have gone into device manager and updated the driver and it works and then it doesn't. I also uninstalled the device through device manager and it does the same thing. After the 15 seconds are up it ends up with a exclamation mark next to it and I cannot access it. I have tried to get the DJ to work on three other computers and it does the same thing. I know the DJ itself works however because on my old computer which I didn't bother to update anything on, it works perfectly fine. I even searched around and got the Ehanced MTP update from microsoft. Still nothing!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Is the old computer using a different operating system to the other computers you have tried it on by any chance? You may find it useful to try the Dell DJ forums as these will be more specialist. Have you also tried contacting Dell themselves?

Also, you could try the "Best Solution" on this page: http://www.fixya.com/support/t206766..._gen_2_connect

Hope this helps
