Hello.
I've been using Anapod since 2006. It's been a pain, given that the ipod has been replaced under warranty several times and each time requires a reregistration. The current problem relates to that.
I had the iPod replaced under warranty. I reloaded all the music I had from my PC. I then gave the pod to a friend to load some music from his PC. This was music that I owned, of course, and was stored on his PC.
I also was encouraged to use iTunes instead of Anapod was told there would be no problem. When I connected the ipod (after the friend loaded my music) back to my PC, iTunes grabbed the iPod and gave me an error message related to licensing or transferring from iTunes or somtheing
When I ejected the ipod the player said it had "no music", "no artists" etc. I can see that the ipod is almost full when I view it through My Computer, but can't get the ipod to acknowledge that it's nearly full (79/80gigs)
When I reconnected to Anapod I got this message:
Your ipod has not been initialized to play back iTunes music store files.
You will need to transfer at least one Music Store file via iTunes before
your ipod will be able to play back your protected audio files. [OK]
Now when I view the ipod through My Computer it shows lots of music files, but they are not categorized by title. I can even play a tune from the ipod via USB by selecting a file at random from one of the 14,123 files in the folders, but their names are just codes and I get a random song.
So, I can't get the ipod to play in the car. The only way is via disc mode. And the ipod won't admit that it's full of music.
And now iTunes claims that the ipod has been (can't recall the exact word) somehow compromised and that it will need to be reformatted. I'd really like to avoid that and wonder if there's some way to save my music. Can anyone help?
Jonathan
