please help im puzzled
i have a dell dimension e510 with windows xp media center edition 2005, well anyway my mom was getting aggravated because it was going to slow and she restored the computer to January, partly because there was a game that i cant get off, but anyway it corrupted a file so we could only start in safe mode. we undid the restore and it works fine except there is no sound, i ran dell diagnostics and it went fine all of the things where OK. i checked for any software changes but there are none. after i tried that i downloaded the drivers from dell to see if it would work. it did not at first but now my sound is all the way up but its sounds like its low and its all static and it doesn't play all sounds only normally loud sounds.

can this be the sound card because i did the diagnostics just now and it had a little static.

i hope its simple

p.s if you need more info just ask

Check about sound driver status in Device Manager Go to Control panel > system > advance teb > device Manager. If you see yellow mark in sound driver then you have to reinstall it.
