Question Solved: saving part of dvd for school presentation/help
Hi there. I need to save short clips of a dvd movie into a powerpoint presentation for a school project I am working on. I am a student at my local community college and a computer novice.

That is my delimma now. I have a PowerPoint presentation due in two weeks (1st week of May, 2009) and the subject matter is a playwright. One of his plays was made into a movie and distributed on dvd. I bought a copy of the dvd and now I would like to save four or five minute clips and put them into my powerpoint presentation to illustrate certain points I am trying to make.

I don't want to steal the entire dvd, I just want to use a portion of it for educational purposes...I understand there are copyright issues and I am currently involved in calling the company that put out the dvd and trying to obtain the correct permissions. (so far..voice mail purgatory)

At any rate, can I do this and is it a fairly easy process? Also, if there is a program out there that I can use for free or on a trial basis that would be great as I am a student and only want to do this once.

I have a new Windows XP computer with 1gig Ram and I think a sixty gig hard drive. I have the office suite of programs as well as Works. Real Player and Media Player came with my computer...I think.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much
