Audio problem after closing and then reopening laptop
The audio works fine as long as I don't close my laptop lid and then reopen it. Once I close the laptop lid and then reopen it, the audio will not work until I restart my computer. I can see the music file is playing but there is no sound coming out from it. The Device Manager shows that everything is functioning properly.

I have never had this problem before. My laptop is Gateway MX7120. The audio driver from the official website does not work. I have used an alternative audio driver before and it worked fine in the previous several reformat until now. The alternative audio driver is Conexant AC-Link Audio.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

There may be another Motherboard put in it other than the original........do it have a power management in Control panel....sometimes they have an option when you close the lid to say Hibernate ...etc...
What does it say in Device Manager under Sound etc...you will have to click on the + sign to expand it

Also is there a mute button on the keyboard

There is an option that says to enable Hibernate. I have tried to turn it on just now and closed the lid, but the problem still exists.

I have checked the audio properties etc. It isn't muted. Even after the closing and reopening lid.

Under the Sound it has the following:
Audio Codecs
Conexant AC-Link Audio
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Video Codecs
