Post Sound/Video plays too fast
I'm having difficulty with my sound/video playing too fast, here are my system specs:

Windows 2000
5.00.2195
Service Pack 4
Compaq x86 Family 6 Model Stepping 6
AT/AT Compatible
ACPI Uniprocessor PC 1GZ
Maxtor 5T020H2
NVidia Riva TNT2
Compaq CD-ROM/DVD LTN485
Intel(R) 82801BA Ultra ATA Storage Controller - 244B
Intel(R) PRO/100 VM Network Connection
AC'97 Audio Card

*Note* In an attempt to fix the problem I went to www.realtek.com and downloaded an updated driver for the AC'97 Audio Card, but when I restarted the computer would not function with the new driver(s) running. So I had to start-up in safe mode and disable it.

With the new AC'97 Drivers I now have no option in the Control Panel for a sound device to choose/use, so I may have made matters worse

Any/all help would be greatly appreciated as I would love to get this issue resolved ASAP. Thanks.

Are you using windoes media player?

If so try right clicking near the play button and selecting normal playback.

If its everything to do with the sound and not just on media player then its not that

I wish it was just Windows Media Player lol, but nah this has to do with the sound altogether.
