Please help, whats better?
What hard drive would be better for me? I need a fast drive because I .rar alot of very large files and unrar very large databases on a daily basis and it currently takes me about 10 minutes per file to do and this is quite time consuming.

Would a raptor 10k rpm 300GB for $300 be worth it? would I see much performance improvements?

Or a SSD drive but only 120gb for $300

Which drive would be better? I cannot go with a SAS drive as my motherboard I bought for this build doesn't support it. Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys and gals.

The best performance boost that you can get for (de)compressing large files is to make sure that the source file(s) and destination archive (or vice versa) are on separate physical hard drives and that your drives are kept well defragmented. Buying a dogs-bollox fast hard drive will make a difference, but not as much as sorting the above out first.
