Corrupted video
I recently transferred a funny video i took from my phone onto my computer. I then accidentally deleted it on my computer, didn't realize it for a good two three weeks, so when I tried using recovery software, the video could not be found. It did however find it on my phone's memory card, but it's not functioning.

It is identified as a .3g2 file which is real player media and it is 14 meg, but it won't play. I'm sure some parts of it are still good, but is there any software that will let me salvage the parts that might work?

Haha, no. I empty my trash bin often. That's why I had to resort to using recovery software that pulls deleted files up.

Like I said, I want to know about any possible software that can pull out something out of my file.

the only one i have used was for a photograph CF card and that restored all thefiles
http://www.z-a-recovery.com/download.htm
and free

however, for the PC recovery, I think it only does 4 folders for free otherwise you need to subscribe

Clearly I am not being understood. I have already recovered the said video. I don't need recovery software.

The problem is I have the video, but it is clearly corrupted/missing parts, because even if it says it is 14 meg, I CANNOT PLAY IT.

I need to know if there is software out there that can maybe fix the video or pull out any parts of it that might work.

ooooooo,

Try VLC Player....

It should detect a video stream corruption and give the option to repair it...

Finally someone is getting my drift.

I had tried VLC already unfortunately and that gave me no results...

i was suggesting re-recover the file - perhaps the file recovery program you used corrupted it and a new recovery program may produce a clean file

I've tried many recovery programs, I only found one that was able to pull the file, even if it was corrupted.

I'm still looking for that software...

The best hope might be a video converter, if the converter is adaptive enough to allow for some index corruption or whatever is ailing the file, and accepts the 3g2 format of course, then a conversion will work. It might be difficult to find such a program though.

Hmm sounds like an interesting idea. Any idea where I can start finding a good one besides google?
