OK, you do have the right version. You should continue with the trimming of your Startup list according to my previous instructions.

Ive already closed down windows defender, real player, quicktime, and none of the programme list has any notation to say whether or not they are important ie U,X,N, so I don`t know what to close unless I guess (( not sure about doing that?

You won't see U, X, N, or ? in msconfig. It's on the websites. Did you have a look at the example I gave you? There's a link in post #42, in Red (here).

I prefer it when members run this task by themselves as it's time consuming and I'm often helping more than one person at the time. But, here goes. You can uncheck all items from your Startup list relating to the following entries:

Please find the scan after I have unticked if some associated with those those you listed! I really do appreciate your assistance but if my "computural inability" is proving to be tedious for you? I apologise and if you would prefer, I will continue trying to sort this problem alone, I do fully understand how you must feel coming against someone of my limited ability, when there are so many more people out there deserving of your help. thanks again anyway. take care.

Dear Phantom 010 I seem to have sorted the problem by disconnecting the Net gear and re connecting it and I can now get all the video time that I require???? I guess that my incoming phone line was corrupt or something and by doing that I reconnected to some other line???? But thanks for your help and your dilligent persistance with my "computural inability".
Kind regards
Rob
