DVR to DVD
I have a Samsung DVD/VHS recorder and am hooked up to a Direct TV DVR. How do I take a program off the dvr and record it onto a dvd on the Samsung recorder, the Samsung uses a reflective attachment to work with the TV which is a Vivo?

Hi preacherpaige, and welcome to TSG.

What video output type(s) do you have on the DVR and what kind of video input type(s) do you have on the DVD/VHS recorder.

The best transfer would involve using component video, like Y/Pb/Pr. The next best quality would be using S-Video, followed by composite video. You would need another set of connections for the stereo audio.

NOTE: If the original program creator did not wish to permit recording the program from the DVR, the DVR may add a copy protection signal to the video and the DVD recorder may refuse to record the program to disc.

I have no idea of what you mean by a "reflective attachment" between the DVD recorder and TV.

I doubt the DVD recorder has component input -- almost none do.

Plug the DVR s-video or composite output into the DVD recorder input. Change DVD recorder to the correct input, usually written by the wires if you need help. Play the DVR, record on the DVD recorder. Easy.
