Ipod Video 30gb- not playing
Hi

I have a ipod video 30gb - an early type/ well out of warranty- it has behaved perfectly up until now.

The problem is that all the functions work fine but when i have selected a track and clicked play the icon changes from pause to play but there is no sound and the counter does not count- the track doesn't play. (also in the music quiz game there is no sound but the rest of the game functions are fine) I have done the basic reset (hold play and select until it goes dark and restarts) and a restore from itunes- does anyone know the button combination needed for the next level of recovery? or have any other ideas?

My ipod has sentimental value so don't really want to have to scrap it.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance
