CD/DVD Drive - Not Loading?
I have two problems with my CD/DVD drive - if I put in an actual DVD or audio CD, Autoplay comes up and I have no problems.

I have a multimedia CD (learning a language) and when I put in the CD, nothing happens. I have tried searching for it through my computer, but it's like it doesn't recognise that it's there.

My other problem, I want to burn a file off my computer to a CD. I have put in a blank CD-R, but same thing, it doesn't seem to recognise that it's there, so I can't open it up to drop in the file I want to burn to it.

I have a Toshiba notebook (newish, bought mid 2009) and am using Windows Vista Home Premium edition.

Thanks in advance

Windows XP?
If so, there are errors where a drive can "stick" due to the hardware drivers. Sometimes it's as easy as burning or player software running, or "hidden running" due to not ending correctly.

Rebooting is the usual easy fix.
