Exclamation DVD+R disc used to play, now not so much
A DVD+R disc that used to play normally on my computer's DVD player now won't be read at all, causing the DVD drive to stall and freeze. The DVD player works with other CDs/DVDs, so I tried to wipe the disc, but it didn't help. There are no major scratches on the surface.
I don't know what the issue might be, I'd appreciate any help.

No "major" scratches?
Well, "minor" scratches cause major issues, too!
Even a tiny refraction of light from the laser, causing a misread, results in a bad experience.

It's one reason disc is now a dying format too (Blu-ray was dead before it started), and there's such a shift to network-driven content and solid-state mediums. At least for regular use, maybe not long-term archiving.

Yeah, I knew I should have phrased it differently; there are those tiny scuff lines that everybody has on their CDs or DVDs after playing them regularly, even when handled and stored properly... as a matter of fact, there are no "scratches" per se, just minor discrepancies. I meant to point that out to rule it out as a clear issue, since other media in similar conditions plays normally, including CDs that have many more microscopic scrapings.
Any other clues?
Thanks.
