You tube videos sent by email

I can open these videos when I send them to my other email a/c (Hotmail) but other recipients by email can't open them. Is this because they don't have the right codecs installed on their computers?

Youtube videos are online, so how are you sending them? Or are you just sending a link?

I am d/loading using 'you tube downloader' or 'KeepyouTube'and saving them to a file on my pc. Then I try to send that file as an email attachment. Have to laugh, I am a Junior member which is nice cos I am 74

What file type? The recipients might need some type of codec installed, but that can get ugly, and I can't offer any advice on that. Just send them a link to the video.
