dvd playback - jittery and inexplicable
hi guys

so i was watching a dvd on my pc yesterday, i paused it and did some other stuff, and when i unpaused it the sound was all phasey/flangey/jittery, and the picture was jittery also - almost seems like its running 1% slower than it should.

after an amount of fruitless searches for a solution, i used system restore and all was well. paused the player again, and the problem returned. system restore no longer resolves it.

all drivers/firmwares are up to date, and i've tried using different software - same problem.
sound familiar to anyone? computer frustration has its own unique brand of smashiness - any assistance would be most gratefully received. i just want to watch the last episode of state of play!

thanks for reading.
