Video clips freeze up
Part way through a video, it freezes up on me. happened on NFL.com, and even the New
Member Guide on this site froze up while playing.

I also have had occasional trouble downloading an installation file and installing when the
installation has to go online. In the last instance, I was trying to install Diino, an online file
storage service, but it failed when trying to use Java. I had to go into Safe Mode with
Networking to install it, which it did fine in that case.

I have clean uninstalled Java, Adobe Flash, and Shockwave and reinstalled them. I also
disabled my firewall (PC Tools) during the process, and I reinstalled my antivirus (AVG).

I had a virus (Trojan) a few days ago, which AVG destroyed, but things have not seemed
quite right since. I don't know whether that might have corrupted something. I have run
AVG, Spybot, and Ad-Aware nightly for a few nights since to make sure everything is gone,
and they say it is clean now.

That's about all I can think of, except I am running 2.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Windows Vista
Home Premium SP2. My browers are Firefox 3.54, Google Chrome, and IE8, and the
problem exists in all of them.

I also have a Vista machine that freezes playing videos online. Not every time; but very frequently.
None of the virus scanners or rootkit revealers have found anything. I have been online with McAfee and Microsoft tech support for literally hours.
Any ideas?
