i have tried so many sound recorders and none of the do what i want, i like recording sound on screen for better quality, like youtube videos, but the recorder i use only catches the sound that goes through the mic (installed into the laptop) so i cant record any sound on my computer un less i talk into the mic, this might sound a bit confusing but i cant put it in a ny better way, any help any one?

sounds like you need to double click yr volume icon in the start bar (on xp), go to the options dropdown>properties, tick the "recording" box, then choose "stereo mix". hope that helps.
