Can't get any sound from my pc
I'm running XP with a creative audigy EMU 0404 sound card. Just the other day after turning my computer on, I get no sound. I've checked all the connections, checked Device Manager, checked all the volume controls I could find, checked for muted boxes, and all of that. I've been running my card out line into a stereo receiver and then out to speakers from there. The receiver is still working as I've been able to listen to the tuner, and also I connected a dvd player audio to the receiver and heard the cd I put in the DVD player. So, it's something to do with the computer itself or the sound card. According to Device Manager the sound card is working fine. I also uninstalled then reinstalled the drivers for the sound card. Any help would be appreciated.

Cant really recommend much since you did most of the troubleshooting I can think of...

BUT... Uninstall your drivers... Restart your computer then reinstall your drivers...

I've done that and still nothing. The weird thing is, Windows was at first finding the card, but now doesn't find it. At the same time, if I run the Everest Home diagnostic program, it says I have a sound controller Audigy 2, which is the platform that the E-MU is built on. So the diagnostic program finds something but Windows doesn't think I even have a sound card now. I've ordered a new sound card, but I'm not even sure that's the problem.
