How Rip Without Playing?
I want to copy some music CDs I own onto my hard drive so that I can play them without having to fuss with the discs, etc. I use Windows Media Player 11. If I insert an audio disk and select rip from the drop down window, it immediately begins ripping track by track AS IT PLAYS THE CD. There must be a setting that will let me rip the tracks at faster speed without having to wait for the entire CD to play. Anybody know how to do this?

I looked at windows media player 11, I think all you can do is press stop as it starts to play the CD.

Try turning off Auto-Play.
