Unhappy Problem recording a 6 hr DVD to a DVD-R
Greetings...Please help, I'm trying to burn a 5 hour DVD to a Memorex and Sony DVD-R using DVD Fab 6. dvd copy software. When I make the copy I get some glitches and dropouts. I don't have any problems when I burn at 1 and 2 hours. Is there a special setup or selection that I need to make in order to record properly. Your help is truly appreciated. Thank you

Memorex is by far the worst brand of dvds EVER made...

The gliches and drop-offs are there because at 5 hours the the laser must write even smaller mpg2 steams on the dvd to fit the video and audio...
Since the steams are closer together on the dvd they must be precise... and bad source media (memorex) adds to the problem

Buying verbatim will solve this issue... also dvd-5s are meant to hold 2-3 Hours MAX

Also please check http://www.firmwarehq.com/ for a update of your cd/dvd drive.... there could be a new algorithm...

(right click your cd/dvd drive in device manager to see which you have)

Thank you for the quick answer! I purchased new DVD-rs (Verbatims) and updated my CD/DVD drive. I'm still getting the same problem. I only get the glitches and dropouts when I play the burned copies on my desktop and laptop. The DVD-R copies play well on all my regular DVD players. Do I need to make adjust any settings when using DVd fab6 or Clone DVD2. Thank you!!

sure thing...

Ive found in my own personal experiece and various PI PO quality grahps that verbatims burn best @ 4x speed...

So try burning slower and you should be set! : )

IMGBURN is a great program for this
