ipod nano EU volume restriction
Even at full volume my 3rd generation ipod nano is too quiet for me to listen to on an aeroplane and I believe this is because the EU enforced a volume limit on MP3 players. I don't want to damage my eardrums but the volume is far too low for quiet classical music and I cannot find any solution on the internet. The nearest I found was gopod but I've tried it and it does not seem to work.

its extremly difficult to hear a nano on the plane, I have tried a couple of headphone types
I have a Nano, and touch , with a battery operated headphone amp and in the end I purchased a set of noise reduction headphones, NOT cheap

I also took off the volume equalisation setting which makes all songs play at the same volume, made little difference on a plane

Thanks Etaf, useful to know it's not just me! However the plane was the most extreme example, I also find the nano too quiet in many other situations where there is even a little background noise but maybe expensive earphones is the only answer!

have a search on google for a portable headphone amp - I purchased mine from maplin for £10 BUT they do not make it anymore and most I have seen are a bit more expensive

Be very careful of the ears though
