DVD+R and DVD-R are two different standards of writeable DVD disks; there is also DVD+RW, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM (re-writeable disks). Most modern burners support all of these standards, though DVD-RAM is less common. Writeable CD's only come in one flavour, there is no +/- option, and you can also have rewriteable CDs (CDRW).

If you want the technical details check out: http://club.myce.com/f33/difference-...-dvd-r-103718/

What it basically boils down to is that DVD+R has slightly better error correction and greater compatibility with standalone DVD players due to the ability to set the 'book-type' of the DVD to DVD-ROM.

This is probably a glitch with the site; we've only just moved from cdfreaks.com to myce.com. I'll let a moderator know and post back with the results. Personally, I'd rather have stayed a freak
