Vegas Video and Windows 7
Have just built a new computer and am running windows 7. I installed my previously purchased version of Vegas Video Pro 8.0. Trying to capture a video from a Sony Digital 8mm video camera, and as soon as I hit the capture button, the program stops, and an error window pops up that states that the program was terminated for some unknown reason, and Windows will notify me as soon as a solution is available.

I have previously captured and rendered lots of video with the same camera, and Vegas 8.0 while running Windows XP on my old system. I just needed a faster processor and more disc space, so I upgraded.

Is this just a compatibility issue with Windows 7? Is there any solution?

Its probably either because Windows 7 does not support analog capture (if that's the case) or the capture drivers are not compatible with Windows 7. You probably need Windows 7 drivers, maybe Vista drivers would also work, for the capture hardware, or if this is Windows 7Pro or higher you can possibly run in XP mode and use the XP drivers to capture video.
