cds only play on computer
the last few cds I have burned from my Windows media player will only play on my computer. the cd player in my truck won't even acknowledge them, when I play them on my stereo, it appears they are playing ( I get a track and seconds elapsed) but no sound? anyone have any ideas?

WMP is notoriously unreliable as a CD burner; try using ImgBurn instead. I'm assuming that burnt CDs have worked in your other CD players previously. Also, make sure that you are burning the CD's as Audio disks rather than data disks (unless your players support mp3 playback). Finally check your media, and burn at roughly half the rated maximum speed. e.g. Verbatim 48x CDR, burn at 24x or less.

Use CD-R's instead of CD-RW's because they're more successful at burning.

Make sure to finalize and verify the burning process. That allows the burned CD's to work in more players.

Use a third-party burning program instead of WMP's burning function. Ashampoo Burning Studio Free is a good one and is very user-friendly.

I'm currently using the full Ashampoo Burning Studio 9.20 and love it.

How do you finalize?
I'm using Ashampoo and also have Nero 8.

I just follow the instructions on the screen. On Ashampoo, I don't think there is anything about finalizing. must be done automatically.
