Solved: no playback after recording from usb port microphone
I first adjusted the volumn in both recording and playback in the device manager under USB Audio Device. It seems to be a strange thing that when I unplugg the microphone I hear microsoft sounds from my speaker. I'm sure if I went to youtube I would hear that. When the microphone is plugged in I get no playback sound. No sound at all from the speakers. I have tested the hardware and it is fine. I've gone to all programs, accessiores, entertainment, sound recorder and tested the microphone with recording and playback movements. But no playback sound, at all. Should I just get a microphone that hooks up to my mic jack, next to my sound jack. I'm really confused on this matter. I've even considered getting a sound card and installing it. "A little of lady of 63 trying to save a dime". It's driving me bananas at this time though. It all started when I got a webcam in order to see my grands on the computer. I'm on the west coast and they are on the east. I'm determined to get this thing right. Please help, anyone. Thanks./

open the windows volume controls right click on the speaker icon in the tray if its not there open the control panel click "sounds and audio devices". tick the box
place volume icon in the taskbar.

when you right click the icon in the tray click open volume control then un_tick mute the mic control.if the control is not there then click "options'"properties tick playback and tick microphone.

now open the mic control you should be able to hear your voice.
click "options'"properties tick the recording button tick the box for the microphone this is the recording mic control.Click the "advanced button to select the boost option and tick the select box to activate the mic control.
you can mute the playback one if the sound did come through the speakers..when recording you don't want this control active, only the recording mic.

Thanks for you help
For some reason and I don't know what it is.....I'm not getting sound. But only when I go to the sound recorder in all programs. Just by speaking into my microphone I hear nothing. I don't hear my voice. Again only if I go to the sound recorder. Could you tell me why's that.

now open the mic control you should be able to hear your voice.
click "options'"properties tick the recording button tick the box for the microphone this is the recording mic control.Click the "advanced button to select the boost option and tick the select box to activate the mic control.
you can mute the playback one if the sound did come through the speakers..when recording you don't want this control active, only the recording mic.

When I just want to talk and hear myself in the microphone what should I do without going to the sound recorder. I hope you understand this. Thanks again. I don't know what I did but now I do hear sound from the sound recorder and playback. I don't hear anything just by speaking into the mic.

make sure the main vol control and the wav control are about half and the mic control full on speakers connected to the green socket external speakers have to be the powered amp type.once you have sound through the system then your set to record. if you have a copy of skype installed then you can check the settings with the mic/speaker setup control wizard..also try another socket usb for the mic some times the connections can be unrelyable. you could probably get a usb to mini jack adapter to try the mic out on the pink socket on the board..
