Logitech 5.1 speakers not working. Hey all.
I have had my computer for about a year now and I always just used simple two speaker setup. However, I finally took my Logitech 5.1 speakers off my old computer and tried to hook up them up to my new one. With my old computer I used the front panel audio jacks to get sound.
However, there are only two audio jacks on the front. Now my new speakers need 3 jacks. So I used the ones in the rear of the computer. I couldn't get any sound at all. So I called the computer company (cyper power pc) and they said I need to open up the computer and disconnect the front panel audio because that cancels out the rear audio card. Ok, did that. Now I CAN GET SOME SOUND. But only when I go into device manager and configure the speakers. Also, I can only get all the speakers to give sound when in 7.1 audio not in 5.1, in 5.1 setup the front left and right don't play. In 7.1, they play but they play as the side left and right not the front left and right.
Also, now device manger says under sounds and games;
PnP Audio Device. where as before it said C-media 6025 when the front panel audio was still plugged in. I have a ASUS M2N-SLI motherboard. I put in the CD that came with and tried to install the c-media drivers AFTER i unplugged the front panel audio, it said they installed than said to restart, and after restart the computer wouldn't even turn on. So I went into safe mood and restored the computer back a few hours. it turned on, and again found new hardware, and installed drivers for PnP Audio device.
Any ideas, and help would be awesome. I tried calling the computer company again and couldn't get through.
