How to download video clips from YouTube
I used to have no problems to download You Tube video clips from my Firefox browser.

However, with the newest version of Firefox ( 3.6 ) I run into problems and I wonder what
is the correct way to download a clip.

Yesterday I did it buy simply "file, save page as" and this worked.Today when trying to replay the clip

I get an error message " an error occurred.

Thank your for help

Try using the Video Download Helper addon. It will add a little icon above video's enabling you to download them.

It's streaming video. So, it's not saved on your hard drive. I know software can do it for you but it's against Youtube's Terms of Use...

Thank you for your advice. The reason I was intending to save certain clips on my hard drive is to
have easier access to certain clips.Often it takes a lot of time to find a video clip on You Tube
and by having it downloaded and organized access would be much faster.Another reason is to
have the video clip saved is to still have it even if it were removed from You Tube.( not sure if that
can happen )
Now I intend another approach: to only save the title of the video clip on my hard drive. Then I should
be able to double click this title and the clip to perform.
How is this done ? I tried a copy/paste but without success. And of course I hope this is not
against their terms of use.

Thanks again

-Fabez-, you should know to not help with such requests. As noted it is against YouTube's TOS and our forum rules.

AntonABC, to save the URL of a web site make sure the URL is selected (highlighted) in the browser's address bar and then drag it to your desktop (or any other folder). A shortcut should be created; you can rename it if desired. This works with Firefox, and I think with other browsers.
