Exclamation My Audio not working
Hi: I have a PC running Windows XP. It has an NVIDIA nFORCE 430/410 Serial ATA Controller. Uses M2NPV-WM motherboard? I recently got a virus and so I completely wiped it clean and reinstalled Windows. Now I have no sound at all.

On Device Manager, under Other Devices it lists Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus with a yellow question and exclamation mark.

I have installed Windows Service Pack 3 for XP. I have installed NVIDIA nForce 430/410 Serial ATA Controller driver. I have installed Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (which shows on Device Manager under System Devices that it is working properly).

When I go to the Audio Device with the exclamation it says I have no drivers installed. I don't know how to figure out what drivers I need and/or how to find them to make this device work.

HELP!!!

You haven't installed the drivers for your sound card yet. You can go to the ASUS website and download the sound drivers for your motherboard from there.

Yes, it worked. It was still a challenge to figure out which driver was the right one for my sound device (there were 2 listed), so I had to download both, but finally I have sound back. Thank you.

I went to ASUS and plugged in the motherboard number and it gave me the options for the Audio. (Just in case someone else is having the same issues.) I downloaded both and of course it was the last one I downloaded that was the correct one.

Start your own thread and be more specific how you reinstalled XP.

Also advise the description(brand name, model name, model number) of your computer.
