When I had Vista on this laptop (HP Pavillion dv6000), DVDs wouldn't play
on occasion. Now that I've upgraded to Windows 7, however, no DVD or CD will work :S
- The disc still spins whilst in the slot.
- I've already tried uninstalling the DVD drivers (or atleast what I think are the drivers: everything under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers? I might be wrong) in Device Manager.
- I've already deleted the Upper and Lower Filters in Registry.
- I only have two disk drives/folders in My Computer (when a DVD is popped in and when it isn't): (C) and HP_RECOVERY (D).
All my drivers are up-to-date; however, I fear that the problem here lies with compatibility issues with Windows 7.
Am I missing something or does it look like I'm in need of a new DVD drive that's compatible with Windows 7?
