Uninstall Norton and run Symantec's Norton Removal Tool.

You may then also need ...

(From a JohnWill post)

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Vista or 7.

Start - All Programs - Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

This may sound vaguely familiar ...

all those tunnel adapters means the meaningful part of the ipconfig /all was lost. Use the following commands instead. From the Notepad window that will pop up copy just the first part--up through the first tunnel adapter only.

ipconfig /all > config.txt & config.txt

I don't know what else to do (other than the "nuclear" option of a reinstall of Windows) and as I said earlier "I have no idea why neither [network adapter] shows in the ipconfig /all."
