Network Adapter not working after windows update
My laptop won't connect to the internet at all and status shows limited access to router. It was fine a few days ago until a Windows update. I did a system restore on it back to before the windows update and the internet was working just fine but then there was an automatic windows update again and the connection is gone again. When I try to troubleshoot it says the network adapter is not working properly. I'm currently using the main computer in the house. I can't access any network at all on my laptop and I'm nearly in tears. This has happened before about 7 months ago after a windows update. At that time I did a system restore and reinstalled the updates and it worked just fine. This time nothing. I have tried to check for updated drivers for the network adapters but windows says I'm running the recent ones. Please help, I have no idea what to do next. So sad.

P/s I don't have any restore points before the windows update so can't do system restore.

I did an ip config/ all as I have noticed from the other posts this is asked for so I took the iniative. Here are the results.

What is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters? What, if any, warnings or errors are anywhere in Device Manager?

Network Adapters

- Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
- Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
- Intel (R) Wifi Link 1000 BGN
- Marvell Yukon 88E8059 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
- Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter

When I double click on each one of them, it says 'this device is working properly'. I tried to update all of the above and I got the same message for all of them 'Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date'.

Thanks.

Roll back the driver in device manager and see if it is working.
If it is working, run windows update manually from control panel.
Find that update, probably under optional updates.
Right click it and click hide update.
That should stop it from installing.

Do you have or can you get the working driver.
Might be a download at the manufacturers webslte
you can download and transfer to that computer with
a flash drive or CD.

I would download from the laptop manufacturer's web site and install in this order the chipset, ethernet and wireless drivers.

I will try that. So should I try downloading drivers for every single one of the ones I have listed under Network Adapters?
