Solved: Wpa and wep prompts
I have a wireless USB adaptor plugged into a 5yr old desktop. Trying to connect to a sky broadband router. I have succeeded using a wep key prompt after amending router settings from wpa password default. The connection wizard only prompts for a wep key input. How do you get it to ask for a wpa key password? I want to amend router settings back to wpa key password. Operating system windows xp.

Do you have Service Pack 3?

Do you have the latest wireless driver from the adapter manufacturer's web site? Does the adapter support WPA?

If all three answers are 'yes' you should be getting the correct prompt when attempting to connect to a WPA encrypted network.

That's very useful. I will rectify all 3 as specified and post back. Many thanks.
