Hello,

So i come from a different house with 24mbps download speed which worked perfectly. a day after i went to another house and connected to the internet and i was only getting .20 mbps download. my siblings were getting 6 mbps download. we were all using wireless connections.

My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit.


We are in the same room when we are connected to the internet.

Ive run virus scans

system restore

going 1 inch away from the modem

all these didnt help.

i believe the isp is comcast and my internal wireless card is Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter

My siblings card is atheros.

If you know how to get my speed up to par thatd be much appreciated, thanks

(All drivers are updated and i never have a lot of programs running at the same time.)

I cant test it with an ethernet cord, we only have one and it is always in use :/

it was working just fine a day before on a different modem. and there is a lot of computers connected to the same modem but they are all not in use so i dont think thatd be the problem.

Disable the IP Helper service:

1. Hold the Windows key and type R, enter "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter

2. Scroll down to the IP Helper service, right click on it and select Properties
3. In the dropdown box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to Disabled and then click on "Apply"
4. Then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session.
5. Click OK to exit the dialog

Please do the following.Open Elevated Command Prompt Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.Now type or copy and paste the commands below one at a time hitting enter after each.

Open your device manager hit the start button then right click on computer then select properties then select device manager.

In device manager, click the View menu and select Show hidden devices

Then hit view again and select devices by connection.

Right click on Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface and select Disable.

Right click on 6to4 Adapter and then select Disable.

Next right click any Isatap Drivers that you see and select disable.

Repeat until all but ONE Isatap Drivers are disabled.


Then scroll down right click and uninstall the drivers listed below,dont worry these will be reinstalled upon reboot by windows.

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc unzip Autoruns to your desktop run it.See any entries that read file not found when you see them right click and select delete do this only for the entries that read file not found also uncheck any scheduled task that are set to run on your machine,close the program.
