Hello! I am actually having the same issue on my Emachine E528. I have a Netgear CGD24G Wireless cable modem gateway and a Atheros AR5b97 Wireless Network Card Adapter. Im getting the same "wireless adapter does not have valid ip configuration" msg.

you seem to have a valid IP

can you repeat the ping to 192.168.0.1
but do not put the /all after it

your signal is very low - what happens when you are next to the router

I was sitting right next to it earlier when doing the ping test etc. I still get the little yellow "!" over my signal strength..........

ReStart (reboot) the machine.

Earlier today I was on the microsoft website and read a thread about uninstalling the ipv6 protocol in the network properties. I think thats why theres nothing comming back after the ipv6 command. and when i try to install it, i cant. But Ive been getting the 'invalid ip" error crap before today.

make a note of all your subscription details - so you can re-install if necessary

My boyfriends Dell is hardwired to the modem, his mom has a laptop (toshiba I think) but her's runs off the wireless too. And this little pink toshiba laptop Im using thats a friends.
