Solved: VPN on machine with two NICs Hi!
I have a proxy server in my office, with two NICs
One is connected to the broadband ADSL Modem (not router), and has been given the IP 192.168.1.xxx and the ADSL modem as gateway (192.168.1.1)
The second has a local lan IP, and is connected to the local LAN, and has a leased line router IP as gateway.
The machine is running Windows XP, with Symantec AntiVirus 10.1
I have a regional office with a VPN server running
I can connect to this VPN server from home.
I can connect to this server from office when I transfer the ADSL connection to an office pc with one lan card.
I am unable to establish a connection to the VPN server from the proxy server.
I tried disabling Windows Firewall: but it did not help.
I tried removing the gateway from the local lan NIC, but this did not help either.
I tried adding a route : dest = vpn server IP, mask=vpn server IP, gateway Broadband NIC IP/ADSL Modemlocal IP/Broadband gateway/broadband static IP. Did not work.
I seem to be missing something while establishing a Split Tunnel. There are security issues to be addressed: but only if the VPN connection is made.
No ports/exceptions have been created: since I was able to successfully connect from local machines without doing any such thing.
Request advice: and I would be most disappointed if I learn that it cannot be done.
Request advice
