command prompt disappearing
My win98 computer decided not to connect to the internet today so I went to command prompt to ping it. Everytime I ping I don't have a chance to read it because it disappears when it finishes.

Could you tell me why.

thanks
carla

How are you getting to the dos prompt?
If you go to Start > Run and type in ping yahoo.com and ok.
It will ping it and close.
If you go to Start > Run and type in command, it should open your dos prompt and you then type ping yahoo.com and it should remain open??

Try this:
At the prompt, type 'ping 66.218.71.95' (without the quotes) and hit enter on the keyboard. Do you get four lines starting with Reply From? If so, do you get packets sent 4, received 4? If not, what message do you get?
