Ethernet light off on DSL modem
Hi..My friend's DSL modem is not working..the power and DSL lights are on but the ethernet, internet and activity lights are all off..I put in a new network adapter for him but still there is not light on either the network adapter or modem..I even tried a different cable and no results..Do you think there is a problem with the DSL ethernet port and thus need a new modem?? any help is appreciated

If the internet LED is not lit on the modem, then you are not receiving a connection to the internet. Try disconnecting the power for the modem for about 30 seconds then plug it back in. If the lights still do not come on, call the ISP.

Modem
If you've eliminated the adapter and the ethernet cable then yeah I'd be looking into a new modem.
