no ipconfig or internet
I just got rid of spyaxe on my computer(i think), by using the forums http://forums.techguy.org/security/4...itfraud-c.html Now i cant connect to the internet after running all of the scans(adaware, ewido, ect.). I tried the run ipconfig and the black window flashes then dissapears. I also tried winsocksfix and LSPfix but niether worked. What should be my next step?

Yes, please post the ipconfig /all results.

Since you had computer problems, no sense in suspecting the router just yet. Keep the router connected for now.

Sorry for the wait i was at work. Well i didnt know how to copy and paste so i typed it in I did notice that my computer detects when i unplug and plug in the cable. But the connection status says limited or no connectivity. It should be able to get a connection. The correct port lights on the router are light up. I even changed ports to be sure.

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2.

For these commands, Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

The connection status says connected but none of my programs can get to the internet. The run ipconfig option still doesnt work.

Well i noticed that every time i tried to connect to the internet, ZoneAlarm was getting a hit. So i turned it off and my internet works now . I did turn the internet locks on at one time, but they should go off after restarts right? If so, should i reinstall zonealarm? There were no lock icons in the task bar.

You can't do start > run > ipconfig
You have two options
start > run > cmd <enter>
Type ipconfig /all at the cmd prompt

or

start > run > cmd /k ipconfig /all

Sure helps know that you are running a firewall upfront. Details usually help when trying to solve a network issue. Someone with ZoneAlarm experience will probably come along hopefully and answer your question.

Obviously, since you turned off ZoneAlarm and it works, that's what's blocking the connection. I suggest you need to review the configuration of ZA and find out what's out of place. I don't use it, or I'd talk you through it.

Yup, its due to my own making. I shut off a path that is used by the internet. All is good now. Sorry for wasting your time, but a donation will be made for your help.
