Client Machine and Public IP Address
Hi All,

Here is what I need to do. I need to put a client machine on a public IP Address. My network consists of a T1 modem, Netgear FVS318 firewall, Netgear Switch. Can someone please explain to me how to configure the client to a public Ip address. I do have a block of public ip's assigned to me. ALso will I have to do any port forwarding with my router.

No port forwarding will be necessary because the computer with public IP will not be connected to the router.

You need something like modem to switch; both router and the computer connected to the switch. You will need to set the computer's Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties to the appropriate public IP, Mask, Gateway, DNS server information.
