Solved: Conflicting IP Adress...
Hello everyone,

I replaced a HD for a machine and I edited the IP Address to what it was before and I'm getting an "IP Address conflict" message. Why can't I use the same IP Address for the same machine? Thank you in advance for you help.

it may still be assigned under a lease time, to the other PC.

anything else changed

how are you connected ? is this a workdomain with DNS etc

Hi Etaf,

No it is the same machine and the only thing changed is the HD. It is a small business network with dns server, this is best i can give you, our IT guy is out today. Do you think it's because I didn't assign the same dns IP address?

Why cant your server assign another IP to it?

Why do you need to use the same one?

post an ipconfig /all

ipconfig /all

TWO Methods to do that - some people have problems with ONE----

ONE ---------------------------------
start
run
cmd
ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

TWO -----------------------------------------------

Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
