Exclamation How do I Change my IP Address?
Hello all,

I receive my internet Wirelessly (this is not the host computer) from a router (LINKSYS WRT54G) in the living room and I am trying to change my IP Address for this computer. I have tried a few things, but when i go to www.myipaddress.com , it keeps giving me the same IP. Any ideas, thoughts, help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance all,
-Noob

You can't change your public IP address which is what you're seeing when you go to that web site.

Ahh, i see. Well, is there a way for me to change my "real" (non-public) ip address?
The reason is i got temporary IP Banned from a video game, for basically transfering an item to another character (which i see no point for a temp ban). My buddies need me to go on and help them out, but i can't

Thanks,
-Noob

Well, if you don't follow the game's rules, then you would be banned

You can change your private IP address, but it won't make a lick of difference. Your account and PUBLIC IP is banned. (game sites uses your public IP address, not private)

Perhaps next time you'll follow the rules, and that will solve the problem of getting banned.

The rules? You mean the TSG rule that addresses asking for help to access a game server from which a user is banned (which is illegal)?

Yep, as well as the rules for the game server.

I'm certain that John Will meant to close this thread.................

Axoneo, I've removed your post, I'd suggest that YOU TOO review the forum rules before trying to assist in illegal activities
