problem connecting to a website
For some reason I am having problems connecting to www.edison.edu

I can access from my work computer but at home from two different computers I get an error message. I can connect to any other website with no problem so it's not a connection problem. I don't understand why it would work from my work computer but not my home computer.

Any Ideas

I have cleared my history, cookies, flushed the DNS, etc nothing helped.

ERROR MESSAGE
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds

Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

Sometimes a webite is blocking you if you are entering a password for a few times. Usually it's temporaryly, but if they suspect you to try hacking, you IP is banned. Try browsing by using different proxy or web-cloaking first.

its got to be something with Internet Explorer. I downloaded Firefox and it works with no problems. I don't know what the problem would be but I guess I'll just use firefox to take my classes.

Sorry. Just tried it. The website is down.

“www.edison.edu” dropped the connection.

The server dropped the connection before any data could be read. The server may be busy or you may have a network connection problem. Try again later.

There may be an old version of the page you wanted:


    * in the Google Cache

    * in the Internet Archive
Possibly caused by internal error in the webserver.
